Hello friends! Continuing with part 2 of my coats and coffee series. If you haven’t seen part 1 yet, you can check it out here. Let me know if you enjoy these types of content and if I should keep scouting more cafes around the Bay Area to share. The next stop on my list is a hidden gem Mexican restaurant in Los Altos that is family owned. What’s unique about this spot is the rotating menu each day, so there will always be something different when you go back. The wait times can get pretty long, but luckily when I came, we were seated immediately. However, other guests that came in later, had to wait up to 45 mins to get seated. They do have a small home decor shop in the corner of their restaurant where you can walk around to keep you occupied while waiting. If you happen to be in Los Altos, I recommend giving this place a try!
Tal Palo Review
I have to say… the food here was delicious! my favorite was the Chilaquiles. The seasoning and sauce they made was the best I’ve had, they also topped it with an over easy egg. If they have that item on their menu, I recommend giving it a try. I also ordered the tacos which had cilantro and jalapenos. it turned out better than I expected since I don’t usually get jalapenos. Although their portions were quite small, it filled me up.
I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. It was super cozy and didn’t feel like a restaurant at all. It feels like you’re enjoying a home cooked meal at someone’s home which is a pleasant experience. I loved their decor, the space added a nice touch of Spanish heritage and in the corner at the front of the store, there was a small shopping area where you can buy home decor. If you need something to do while waiting to get seated, it’s a good way to occupy your time and there were so many cute pieces for sale. I pretty much wanted to buy everything they had on display.
The Outfit
For this outfit, I wore a grey oversized coat from Musinsa with a plain white t-shirt and black corduroy pants. For statement pieces, I had to go with my Samara bag. This outfit is super casual and perfect for the cold weather. The oversized coat kept me comfy and warm. For my pants, I went with something loose fitted and these corduroy pants are my favorite. This pant goes pairs nicely with everything in my wardrobe and since it’s more loose fitted, I tend to wear it on days I need to quickly run errands or plan to stuff myself. The material for this pant is pretty stretchy, so I don’t need to worry if I end up eating too much haha.
